Key populations – e.g., people who use drugs (PWUD), men who have sex with men (MSM), transgender persons, and sex workers face disproportionate health inequalities as a result of discrimination, stigma, and a lack of information about how personality shapes long-term health. Because data related to sexuality or HIV status is not collected in most studies, critical information about disease risk factors (e.g., drug use), healthy activities (e.g., exercise), and unique cognitive strengths (e.g., resilience in the face of crises) remains unknown.
With your help, the mPOWR team can begin to unravel the multifaceted ways in which personalities can influence positive health outcomes.
