In the mid-eighteenth century the builders of new popular housing on the orchards and crop land of Raval replaced the heavy, expensive and dangerous tiled gable rooves, typical of the Medieval and Baroque city buildings by a quicker and less expensive formula. A slightly inclined surface to collect rainwater that drained through holes in the parapet: the roof terrace.
